Arbor Day Ceremony at Joe Coviello Park

April 5, 2024

The City of Cape Coral is hosting its annual Arbor Day Celebration and ceremonial tree planting at 10 a.m. April 26, at Joe Coviello Park, 2121 SW 36th Terrace.

This event is open to the public. No RSVP is necessary to attend.

This year's Arbor Day celebration spans two days, and 140 trees will be planted at Coviello Park. The Florida Forest Service will give away native trees at the Friday celebration. Trees are first come, first serve while supplies last.

Ten of the trees will be provided by LCEC, and 100 by Keep America Beautiful® and Keep Lee County Beautiful with funding from Comcast Florida. Volunteers from Comcast's Team UP program will plant 40 trees on Arbor Day and the remaining 100 trees the following day. Additionally, they will complete trail cleanup and maintenance.

This year marks the 32nd consecutive year the City has received a Tree City USA status from the Arbor Day Foundation. Tree City USA recognizes communities committed to an effective, ongoing community forestry program.
