City Invites Non-Profits to Partner in Infrastructure Resilience Projects

April 4, 2024

The City of Cape Coral announces its intention to apply for funding under the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) initiated by Lee County for Public Facilities projects. The City aims to submit a project application focusing on Non-Profit Infrastructure Resilience to enhance infrastructure in non-profit buildings and serve the community better.

Should the City be awarded the funds, they will be allocated to qualifying non-profit organizations seeking to improve their current or future infrastructure. The primary objective is to benefit low to moderate-income households within Cape Coral.

A brief overview of the NOFA is available here.

To facilitate understanding and engagement with potential partners, the City of Cape Coral will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 9th, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the PW Green Room/Nicholas Annex located at 815 Nicholas Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL 33990.

All non-profit organizations operating in or servicing Cape Coral residents are invited and encouraged to attend this session. City personnel, including representatives from Emergency Management (EM), Department of Sustainable Development (DSD), and Hagerty Consultants, will be present to advise on the potential opportunity for reimbursement and the eligibility criteria for non-profits.

Various project ideas will be discussed, encompassing property acquisition and demolition, property acquisition and relocation, structure elevation, construction or reconstruction of infrastructure, structural retrofitting, infrastructure retrofits, and site or other improvements.

This meeting presents a valuable opportunity for non-profits to learn about potential partnerships and funding opportunities and contribute to the resilience and development of the Cape Coral community.
