April 2018 Update
All thirteen construction contracts (1-13) are now underway. Contractors have made substantial progress since the March update.
Gravity Sewer - Gravity sewer construction is underway in Contracts 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 10.
Potable Water and Irrigation-Contractors are currently installing potable and irrigation water mains in Contracts 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Residents may notice new meter boxes or the blue and purple “whips”, which are the HDPE service laterals that will be extended from the main to the meter box at the property line.
Roads and Drainage - Traffic on numerous local and divided roadways are currently impacted by the project. Asphalt roadways have been pulverized in some areas to allow for installation of the utilities. Road construction crews are now beginning road reconstruction in portions of Contracts 5 and 6. The first step in the road reconstruction process is to “cut out” the subgrade. Road crews will then install and compact base rock prior to laying the first “lift” of asphalt pavement.
As utility construction progresses, residents and the traveling public should exercise caution and continue to expect some traffic delays and detours as they travel through construction areas. Traffic advisories can be found here. Residents should use 833-CAPEUEP (833-227-3837) to report concerns related to construction. Questions or concerns related to assessment payments should be directed to Customer Billing at 239-242-3851.
