City Launches Interactive Online Finance Tool
The City of Cape Coral launched a new online tool to better inform residents of exactly how their tax money is being used and help streamline access to data.
The interactive “Open Finance” tool replaces older software that allowed residents to view the City’s revenues and expenses. The new interactive tool still provides this information along with in-depth details. Residents can access data for budgets by department, fund, and vendor.
The tool was developed by Tyler Technologies (Socrata Open Data) and it transforms data into easy to understand graphs and charts. The financial data is updated daily.
Residents can use the online tool by visiting the City’s website (capecoral.net).
- Select “Open Government” under the “Government” menu at the top of the City’s homepage.
- Select “Open Finance” under the “Financial Open Government” section on the web page. Users can click on the charts for more details.
