Rededication Ceremony To Be Held November 14 for Newly Renovated Veteran's Memorial Arch

A rededication ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 14 at 5:30 p.m. for the newly renovated Veteran’s Memorial Arch that is located on Cape Coral Parkway. The outdoor ceremony will be held at 1626 Cape Coral Parkway East and will conclude with a monument lighting.

President of the Cape Coral Historical Museum Gloria Tate and the Cape Coral Parks and Recreation Department’s Special Events Division are hosting the event, which includes posting of the colors, the National Anthem, and guest speakers Mayor Joe Coviello, President of ACRA Electric Inc. Robert Greco, and Lt. Col. Gary Peppers.

The Veteran’s Memorial Arch monument was originally dedicated in 1969. Lighting, a fountain, and extensive median landscaping were added in 2000. In honor of the City’s 50th anniversary, the following renovations were recently completed:

Pressure-washing
Landscape restoration
Repainted steps
New Base and Reconditioning of Bronze Plaque
Fountain restoration and refacing to include new pumps and lights
Color-changing LED monument lighting
Replacement of the medallions that represent the branches of the military
