Tour De Cape Bike Tours Postponed Until January 26

With the forecast calling for rain and strong wind this Sunday, January 20, the Bike Tour portion of the 2019 Tour De Cape event has been officially moved to Saturday, January 26. All event elements including start times, lunch, rest stops and optional speed zone will remain the same on the new date of January 26. Other Tour De Cape activities, including the Pre-Event Packet Pick-Up Celebration at Cape Harbour on Friday, January 18 from 5-8 p.m. and the 5K Run and Kids/Family Ride the morning of Saturday, January 19, will remain on the original dates as scheduled.

"While we understand the date change of the bike tours may be an inconvenience to some of the parties involved, the safety of our participants is the highest priority for this event," said Todd King, Special Events Coordinator. "With advance-notice that severe weather is expected on Sunday, we felt that moving the bike tour portion of the event would be in the best interest of the participants. We hope that everyone who signed up to ride or is planning to register will still be able to participate on Saturday, January 26, hopefully under much better weather conditions."

Due to the date change, pre-registration pricing for the Tour De Cape Bicycle Tours is being extended until 11 a.m. on Friday, January 25. Check-in and day-of registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26. Participants can choose from 15, 30, 62 or 100-mile routes, followed by a buffet lunch at Fathoms or special menu lunch at Rumrunners.
