COVID-19 Parks & Recreation Updates:

  • City of Cape Coral Facilities (other than those listed below) REMAIN CLOSED until further notice.
  • As of Monday, June 15, residents can make appointments to purchase Boat Trailer Parking Annual Passes/Renewals at Cape Coral City Hall. To make an appointment, please call 239-573-3128. Wearing a mask is required to enter City Hall for your scheduled appointment.

Open Facilities/Services
Parks Open Daily** include:

  • Burton Park - Tennis/Pickleball courts open with restrictions**

  • Camelot Park - Tennis/Pickleball courts open with restrictions**

  • Cultural Park (green space)

  • Del Prado Linear Park

  • Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve - includes kayak launch and Welcome Center (Kayak Shack is closed for the season)

  • Giuffrida Park

  • Jaycee Park

  • Jim Jeffers Park - Tennis/Pickleball courts open with restrictions**

  • Joe Stonis Park - Tennis/Pickleball courts open with restrictions**

  • Paul Sanborn Park

  • Rotary Park - Building is not open; Dog Park reopen as of 5/5/20 (owners must bring their own chairs and take with them when they leave)

  • Saratoga Lakes Park - includes kayak launch

  • Sirenia Vista Park - includes kayak launch

  • Yacht Club Community Park - Building is not open; Pier and Beach reopen as of 5/5/20 (with social distancing required); Pool reopen as of 6/6/20 with special guidelines 

    • Yacht Club Tennis - Mon-Fri: 8am-12pm - Open for public play with restrictions
** Please note: Parks that have reopened are operating under the following guidelines:
    • Hours of operation will be dawn until dusk 
    • Amenities that will remain closed include recreation centers (other than summer camp use) and pavilions for rentals (Note: Playgrounds, fitness equipment, basketball courts & shelters for private use are reopen as of 6/2/20); 
    • Congregation of groups using the park facility will not be permitted;
    • Monitoring and educating the public will continue by Park Rangers, City Staff, and the Cape Coral Police Department;
    • The community interested in walking or biking should continue to follow CDC guidelines by practicing social distancing, staying at least six (6) feet from other people, not gathering in groups which includes in parking lots, staying out of crowded places, and avoiding mass gatherings;
    • Staff will continue to monitor this situation and update Council;
    • The disregard of CDC guidelines or a spike in the City of Cape Coral COVID-19 cases could result in immediate closure of the parks that have been re-opened.
** Note: Tennis/Pickleball courts are operating under the following rules:
    • One-hour time limit for play at Camelot Park, Joe Stonis Park, Burton Park & Jeffers Park;
    • Parks and Recreation advises those using the park facilities to follow appropriate social distancing and safety protocols issued by the CDC and OSHA. 

  • Athletic Fields reopen to groups of 10 or less with the same park operating guidelines** as specified above; Please note: League play, bleachers & dugouts remain closed; Organized practices/tryouts (for groups of 10 or less) may be permitted with written plan submitted/approved by Parks & Recreation Director in advance.

  • Cape Coral Art Center
    • Art Supply Store - Open limited hours when camp is not in session
      • June 25-July 30:  M-TH: 5:00-8:30pm & SAT: 9:00am-4:00pm
    • Exhibit Hall open to the public with limited capacity; For details, call 574-0802
  • Cape Coral Mini-Bus Transportation
    • Mini-Bus Service continues; Limited number on bus or in car
  • Chiquita Boat Lock
    • Normal operating hours of 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
  • Pops Café (inside Cape Coral City Hall)
    • Pick-up only; Order by phone at (239) 573-3134
  • Special Populations Center
  • Yacht Club Community Pool
    • Reopen with limited capacity and operating under special guidelines (as of 6/6/20)

Citywide Special Event Cancellations / Postponements

  • Red, White & BOOM - Canceled for July 4 (Rescheduled date of 9/5/20 has been canceled)
  • Yacht Club Sprint Triathlon - Postponed until 10/18/20
  • Special Populations Fashion Show Fundraiser - Postponed until 3/13/21
