Participate in the Snowman Shuffle Fundraiser for Special Populations on Feb. 27

SAM_8915Have you ever taken part in a snowman shuffle? Mark your calendar for Saturday, February 27 and plan to shuffle with us for a good cause! Brought to you by the Guardian Angels for Special Populations volunteer organization, the 5th Annual Snowman Shuffle Fun Walk & Doggie Stroll will begin at Sun Splash Family Waterpark Pavilion, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. Registration is at 9:00 a.m. with activities beginning at 9:15 a.m. and "step-off" for the 1 mile walk at 10:00 a.m. All participants will receive a light continental breakfast and a "warm-up" prior to the event.

This year's theme is "On the move with Special Pops" so have some fun exercise for yourself and/or your dog. You don't need a dog to participate, but you do need to get pledges and/or sponsors for the event. There will be prizes for the team or individual who raise the most pledges. Walkers who raise at least $20 will receive an official event tee shirt. All proceeds will benefit Special Populations, a Parks & Recreation program for individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities. Come meet some of our friendly participants who will be shuffling along with you and enjoy a great morning of food, friends, music and fun!

Download pledge and registration forms at, call (239) 574-0574 or email for more information on sponsoring or participating in this great event. We can also sign off on community service hours for students. Please help us make this the most successful shuffle to date!
