Rotary Park & CCFW to Host Burrowing Owl Festival on February 27

Celebrate Cape Coral's official city bird at the 14th Annual Burrowing Owl Festival on Saturday, February 27 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Rotary Park. This event will be full of activities for the whole family including live birds of prey and other creatures, wildlife presentations, student wildlife art contest, a silent auction, owl starter burrow and maintenance demonstrations, tours of the butterfly house, butterfly plants for sale, bus tours to active owl burrows and much more. Plus, Love Boat Ice Cream, and Kettle Corn and Funnel Cakes will be serving up delicious treats all day.  

The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and protecting wildlife in Cape Coral, especially the burrowing owl.  Cape Coral has Florida's largest population of burrowing owls and people come from all over the world to see and photograph our popular city bird. This festival is designed as a fun way to educate people of all ages about the owls and to get residents actively involved in the preservation and care of this fantastic little creature.

There is a $5 per person requested donation at the gate, children ages 16 and under are FREE. Proceeds from the festival will go directly to local wildlife preservation and protection. For more information, visit www.ccfriendsofwildlife.org
