The Veterans Investment Zone (VIZ) is one of Cape Coral’s latest economic development initiatives. The VIZ encompasses the area surrounding the new multi-disciplinary specialty care Lee County VA Healthcare Center and Cape Coral Army Reserve Center in northeast Cape Coral.

Most of this property is platted in parcels for larger projects, with some subdivision and re-platting into smaller parcels to facilitate immediate development. This mostly undeveloped commercial land is served by a strong road network. City water and sewer services are in place along a portion of Diplomat Parkway, and public utilities have been installed along Northeast 24th Avenue along the western border, facilitating utilities extensions. The state-of-the-art Lee County VA Healthcare Center serves 1,000 veterans daily, and the 15-acre Army Reserve Center is expected to draw 325 or more soldiers for weekend training.
