North Cape Paving Phase II

City Council voted on August 23, 2010, to expend $ 1 million towards paving some of the poor roads north of Kismet Parkway.

Road segments highlighted in green and pink have been approved for paving for Phase II. Red and blue were done previously in Phase I.

Two lane roads, north of Kismet Parkway, were evaluated in the fall of 2010, for their condition rating. 100 = a newly constructed roadway, and 0 = a totally disintegrated roadway. Roads that rate a 35 and below (e.g. very poor condition) were targeted for resurfacing.

Given the funding allocated by Council, there wasn’t enough money to resurface all of the roads that rated 35 and below, therefore a second criteria was added. Road segments with 7 or more homes would be paved. Road segments highlighted in green have a condition rating of 35 of below and have 7 or more homes on them.

Road segments in pink will also be resurfaced. These are “connector road segments.” They have a condition rating of 35 or below, but do not have 7 or more homes on them. They were designated for resurfacing as they are in poor shape, and provide a connection to near-by collector roads.

The map above represents the individual area maps as they geographically relate to each other. Road segments shown in red correspond to both the green and pink segments shown on the individual area.
