The walking trails at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve are open 365 days a year; the Kayak Shack Outpost is open seasonally, weekends only from November thru May, plus some select school and government holidays. During regular operating hours, the Kayak Shack Outpost offers single and tandem kayak rentals.

Hours of Operation:

Weekends & select holidays from November-May
8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Last two-hour rental must depart by 2:00 p.m.
All boats must be back by 4:00 p.m.

Kayak Rental Rates

Single kayak: *$30/four hours*; $20/two hours;
$10/hr any additional hours
Tandem kayak: *$45/four hours*; $30/two hours; $15/hr any additional hours

Cape Coral is an awesome part of The Great Calusa Blueway!  Beautiful natural areas are waiting to be explored. Cash/check/credit cards are accepted; driver’s license is required & people must be 18 or older to rent a kayak. No pets are allowed. Rental prices include sales tax and equipment.

GUIDED TOUR OF MATLACHA PASS (16 yrs & up)

Explore Matlacha Pass with an experienced guide and naturalist. Birds and aquatic creatures are abundant in the pass, so don’t miss this opportunity for a leisurely paddle while learning about nature.

$25 Res / $38 Non-Res

GUIDED KAYAK TOUR OF ECO (16 yrs & up)

Botany Bob will be your guide as you explore this unique mangrove forest located in beautiful Cape Coral. Paddlers see the park from a very different perspective. This route involves a portage. Cost includes kayak rental. Check in 15 minutes prior to class start time at the Kayak Shack at Eco Preserve. Bring: drinking water, sunscreen, bug repellent, hat. Wear shoes that will get wet.  You will get wet and probably dirty. Call 549-4606 for further information.
