The household hazardous waste program is conducted as a service to the community to provide a means for disposal of household hazardous waste items that are not permissible as normal refuse.
The Lee County Solid Waste Division has opened its permanent Household Chemical Waste Collection facility on 6441 Topaz Court (off Metro Pkwy) for operation.
Residents may now dispose of household chemical waste between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday and every first Saturday of the month from 8 am to 12 Noon. The facility will be closed on holidays observed by Lee County.
Please note, we are not accepting radioactive waste, bio-medical waste, and explosive items.
Return smoke alarms and monoxide alarms to the manufacturer for disposal.
Household Chemical Waste must be handled in special ways to prevent threats to human health and the environment. Understanding the complexity of our resources and learning how we affect our environment, for better or for worse, will improve how we manage our environment.
Household Chemical Waste can not be placed in dumpsters, compactors, or curbside!
