On April 29, City Council adopted Ordinance 28-13 establishing a 7% Public Service Tax on electric use only. More than 80 percent of all Florida cities have a public service tax to stabilize their General Fund revenues. The PST Calculator can show residents what the cost of the PST will be on their monthly bills.
This calculator exempts the first 500 kWh Energy Charge from the tax, as well as the Franchise Fee and Gross Receipts Tax, which City Council officially exempted. NOTE: The Customer Charge and Power Cost Adjustment are not exempt from the tax regardless of the amount of energy used.
To calculate the monthly impact on your electric bill, enter the monthly kWh usage shown on your LCEC electric bill.
Commercial accounts will need to enter additional information as highlighted on the separate "Commercial" calculator.
TO VIEW THE PST CALCULATOR,
USERS MUST HAVE INTERNET EXPLORER 9, GOOGLE CHROME, OR FIREFOX.
THE APPLICATION ALSO WILL WORK ON SAFARI, ALTHOUGH THE APPLICATION IS NOT MOBILE-FRIENDLY.
