Cape Coral has undertaken a modern utilities infrastructure program to provide water, sewer, and irrigation services to every parcel within the city. The city’s Reverse Osmosis plant dual water system is recognized by regulators as one of the most progressive in the state. Roadways are established and traffic flows easily. Telecom companies provide fiber optics and other advanced services all over the Cape.

The Cape boasts a robust communications infrastructure, including CenturyLink, Sonet Ring and Comcast Cable. By one analysis, Cape Coral has broadband capacity several times greater than that of larger Florida cities. Survivable, underground fiber interconnectivity is in place at the City Centrum. Southwest Florida International Airport

The airport’s new $438-million terminal opened in 2005, cementing the airport’s status as the #1 midsize hub in the United States.

Southwest Florida International Airport is home to an expanded U.S. Immigration and Customs station facility and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ). Cargo services for regional, national and international carriers are readily available. The airport’s designation as a Foreign Trade Zone provides special benefits for companies engaged in value-added manufacturing, importing and exporting. Cape Coral has two satellite Foreign Trade Zone extensions within its city limits.

 

Page Field Airport

In addition to Southwest Florida International Airport, Cape Coral is also served by Page Field, a general aviation airport in Fort Myers, just five miles from Cape Coral. It is a preferred hub for corporate aircraft and private pilots.

Page Field Aviation Center has been repeatedly named as one of the best general aviation facilities in the nation by ExxonMobil. Since the year 2010, the Lee County Port Authority has invested $40 million in a new Page Field general terminal building and other amenities.
