Florida is one of only a few right-to-work states in the U.S. and clearly provides a business-friendly environment and many tax incentives for businesses. Our city has no public service tax and Florida has a low corporate income tax rate and no personal income tax.  Florida’s sales tax is only 6%. State of Florida Incentives
City of Cape Coral Business Incentives
The City of Cape Coral supports the goal of attracting different types of targeted businesses in order to strengthen our local economy, balance the tax base, and continue to improve the quality of life for our residents and visitors.

The City’s economic business incentives include cash incentives for creation of higher-than-average wage jobs, as well as land assembly and infrastructure assistance. Be sure to ask us about the $25 million in incentives available to help grow businesses in Lee County. The Cape Coral Economic Development Office is your point of contact for City, County, and State business incentives.

The Community Redevelopment Agency is working cooperatively with property owners to revitalize the downtown Cape Coral business district – the South Cape. Technical and financial assistance is available for exterior commercial building renovations and new construction projects. The programs are designed to encourage investment through financial incentives, to redevelop, improve, and lease out commercial property within the South Cape.
 
Lee County Business Incentives

Lee County's Economic Development Office offers several local and state business incentives to new, expanding and relocating businesses in the county. Among them are $25 million dollars in Industrial Revenue Bonds and financial incentives for the attraction of strategic target industries.

Each year Lee County designates $1.5 Million from general funds to be used for the purpose of business incentives. Cash Incentives are available for the creation of targeted industry jobs, paying up to $6,000 per full time job.

State of Florida Business Incentives

The State of Florida offers existing, expanding and relocating businesses workforce training grants. The Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWT) program is available to current businesses and provides grant funding for customized training of existing employees. 

Florida's Quick Response Training Program is a state grant offers an average grant benefit of $600 per trainee.

When a business’ preferred building site has transportation deficiency, Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) offers grants for funding up to $2 million for projects that facilitate economic growth, job creation and retention.
