Meet the Cape Coral Economic Development Office (EDO) Team

Terri Hall 104x158City Manager John Szerlag appointed Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Coordinator Terri Hall as interim Economic Development Manager. In addition to managing the CRA, Hall is overseeing the Economic Development Office as a national search for a new economic development manager takes place. Hall has served in various positions with the City since 1992, including assignments in utilities, public works, engineering and procurement. She landed in the City Manager's Office in 1997 and is responsible for the City's federal and state legislative programs, grants, the citizen's academy and the daily operations of the CRA.  Hall has a Bachelor's in Business from Hodges University.

Nita Whaley, Business Recruitment/Retention Specialist, Cape Coral EDO

Whaley 104x155Nita Whaley has more than 25 years of experience in both large and small business lending, treasury management, business development, government finance, and nonprofit organizations. She holds an MBA and a B.S. in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and an A.S. in Finance from Ball State University. She’s held a Certified Treasury Professional certification (CTP) from the Association of Financial Professionals since 2004. Whaley has won numerous awards for her business development efforts in banking and Volunteer of the Year Award from Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter in Columbus, Ind., where she served on numerous boards.

Karen Ramos, Business Development Specialist, Cape Coral EDO

Karen Ramos has over 14 years’ experience in the Economic Development field. She holds an A.A. from Hodges University, graduating magna cum laude. She is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and obtained the Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) designation. Ramos is an active member of the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, Cape Coral Construction Industry Association, United Way allocations team, local chapter of Business Women, and Achieva Advisory Council. Ramos can frequently be found volunteering at a host of community events.
