City of Cape Coral Permanent Benchmark Network

The City of Cape Coral’s Permanent Benchmark Network consists of permanent benchmarks set throughout the city. These benchmarks are 2” diameter brass disks, with a raised datum point, set in concrete structures spaced at approximately 1/2 mile increments. The City of Cape Coral permanent benchmarks are deemed to have a Stability Rating “B” and were set using equipment and techniques necessary to meet Second Order, Class II leveling requirements, according to the National Geodetic Survey Publication “Geodetic Leveling“.

The City of Cape Coral benchmarks are published on the National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (NGVD29’).

The horizontal datum is derived from differential GPS and is “for reference only”. All horizontal datum should be verified by any user of this website together with the information contained thereon.
