Youth Services Division

The Youth Services Division of the Parks & Recreation Department, which has been serving Cape Coral for over 30 years, offers child care and recreational programs to elementary and middle school aged youth of the community in a fun and safe atmosphere. Before and After School Programs 
Before and After School Programs are offered at all three of the City’s Charter Schools, Oasis Charter Elementary, Christa McAuliffe Charter Elementary, and Oasis Charter Middle School, but participation is limited to children who attend those schools. These programs host activities such as homework time, indoor and outdoor activities, games, sports, arts and crafts, guest speakers and much more. Youth Services Schools Out Days             
This program is offered to all students when school is not in session. Participants enjoy day trips, indoor and outdoor activities, crafts, organized group games and more.  Parents need to provide a healthy lunch and two snacks. This program is offered at Oasis Elementary (3415 Oasis Boulevard) and the Wm. “Bill” Austen Youth Center (315 SW 2nd Avenue). Program hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Oasis and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Wm. Bill Austen Youth Center. Click here for more information on School's Out Days. Summer Recreation Camp
Looking for fun and affordable child care for the summer break? Parks and Recreation has just what you’re looking for! The Youth Services Division offers a Summer Recreation program to children in grades K - 8 (child must be at least 5 years old by September 1, 2017). This year's Summer Recreation locations are Oasis Elementary and Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. Weekly themed camps will be held May 30-July 28 with full payments required prior to each week's session. Creative Cubs Learning Center (3-5 yrs)
The Wm. "Bill" Austen Youth Center is now offering Free VPK* and affordable wrap-around care from 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. for only $85 per week.  We also have a three year old class for $89 per week.  The VPK program runs from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each day.  This program helps children reach their full potential and prepare them for their upcoming year of kindergarten. Creative Cubs Learning Center promotes the development of literacy and reading through age appropriate curriculum. Weekly fee includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for all full time students.

* The VPK program is free for all children who reside in Florida and turn four years old on or before September 1.  For more information or to register, please call (239) 242-3965.
