Boards and Committees - Vacancies

Vacancies occur on boards and committees on a regular basis due to term limits, resignations or other circumstances.  Current vacancies and timelines/requirements for submitting applications are listed below.

NOTE:  All applicants for any City Board, Commission or Committee must be a Citizen of the United States and resident of the City of Cape Coral.

Current Vacancies

Affordable Housing Advisory Committee - 1 Vacancy
Citizen of the United States and resident of Cape Coral
(1) For-profit provider of affordable housing
Deadline to receive applications is no later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017. 

Audit Committee - 1 Vacancy

(1) Citizen of the United States, resident of Cape Coral (who does not have any direct financial or business interests involving the City) and through education and experience shall possess a basic understanding of governmental financial reporting and auditing.    Council may waive the residency requirement by majority vote if there is an insufficient number of applicants who reside in the City.
Deadline to receive applications is no later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017. 


Budget Review Committee - Vacancies - 4 Members and  1 Alternate
Resident of Cape Coral and Citizen of the United States; and established financial background, which may include an educational background, experience, or both in a governmental budget process or private sector process, accounting experience, or high level financial management experience, such as a Chief Financial Officer that has directly overseen budgetary processes, including the preparation and implementation of a budget for a large organization or company.
Deadline to receive applications is no later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017.

Construction Regulation Board - 4 Vacancies

Citizen of the United States and resident of Cape Coral
(1) Class A Air-Conditioning Contractor*
(1) Licensed Pool Contractor*
(2) Consumer representative who is not a member or practitioner of a profession regulated by the board or a member of any closely related profession
*whenever possible

Health Facilities Authority  - 3 Vacancies

Deadline to receive applications is no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017.

South Cape Community Redevelopment Advisory Board  -
 3 Vacancies

(3)  Citizen's of the United States and resident of Cape Coral

Individuals, who by their background, expertise, and personal interest, are needed to assist the South Cape Advisory Board to fulfill its role and responsibilities.  Although membership on the South Cape Advisory Board is not limited to representatives from among the following categories, the City Council, in making the appointments to the South Cape Advisory Board, shall give consideration to seeking representatives from among the following categories: 

  • A person who is a resident of the Redevelopment Area;
  • An owner of land used for non-residential purposes in the Redevelopment Area;
  • A retailer or merchant in the Redevelopment Area;
  • A restaurant, bar, or nightclub operator in the Redevelopment Area;
  • An urban planner or architectural designer;
  • A building contractor or developer;
  • A banker or financier;
  • A commercial real estate broker

Deadline to receive applications is no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017.
