**Due to budget cuts, the city nursery is not currently open to the public**
There is no phone at the nursery, so please call Rotary Park at 239-549-4606 for questions that are not answered on this site.
Not normally open to the public, part of the City Nursery has been set up as a retail operation catering to homeowners and small businesses. The City Nursery is home to the plants sold at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve* and a variety of other plant sales and events throughout the year, such as the ones described on Rotary Park’s Excellent Events page.
A wide selection of native trees, shrubs & wildflowers, plus small to medium sized native & non-native palms and other non-native, non-invasive tropical plants can usually be found at the nursery. Come on over & take a look, you never know what you might find - from live oaks and slash pines to firebush, tropical sage and sunshine mimosa – there is sure to be something to fit into your landscape! Unfortunately, due to limited resources, design, installation and delivery can not be accommodated.
* Each year from October-May, the Kayak Shack at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is open on weekends for native plant sales and kayak rentals from 8:00am-4:00pm.
Plant Suggestions & Tips
- How can you invite birds to your yard?
Purchase a Florida privet or a beauty berry.
- Do you enjoy butterflies?
Add a larval plant or two to your yard. Try milkweed, cassia or firebush.
- Would you like something very fragrant?
Plant a fiddlewood or sweet acacia.
- Want shade?
Live oaks and several other excellent natives grow great in Cape Coral. 10 gallon sized plants cost only $30 at the city nursery.
- Need low-maintenance plants?
Check out the large selection of native ground covers, shrubs and trees. Once established, natives require less fertilizers or pesticides & are pretty drought tolerant. (They have to be established to make it through a serious drought)
