Financial Services Team’s mission is to provide quality customer service by giving complete and accurate financial management support in an efficient and timely manner.
The Financial Services Department is responsible for development and implementation of a comprehensive financial management system for the City to include centralized accounting, financial reporting, budget services, procurement services and program performance evaluation.
The Department oversees treasury, debt management, payroll administration, grant coordination and reporting, capital assets reporting, activity-based costing, budget management and administration, procurement, assessment development and management, customer billing services and coordination of the annual audit by independent certified auditors.
Mark Mason is the Financial Services Director for the City of Cape Coral.
In June 2003, Mark joined the City of Cape Coral as the Financial Services Director. Mark has been a resident of Florida since 1972 and attended the University of Central Florida where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1991. Before coming to the City of Cape Coral, Mark’s local government experience was at the City of Sebastian as the Finance Director for five years and the City of Melbourne as an Accountant II. Prior to entering the municipal finance field, Mark was in private practice for seven years.
