Welcome to the City of Cape Coral Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan Website
A combination of a fast-growing area and great biological diversity could mean an irresolvable conflict between development and conservation. The current process of project-by-project permitting is generally costly and time consuming for applicants. Instead, by preserving open space and connected ecosystems, stakeholders can create a Multiple-Species Conservation Program designed to promote economic growth and preserve biodiversity.
The Plan will be developed by Quest Ecology, with guidance from the HCP Steering Committee, and input from stakeholders like you.
By taking pro-active measures, the Cape Coral Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan will provide a City-wide vision for balanced growth to meet the requirements of federal and state endangered species laws, while promoting enhanced opportunities for recreation, tourism and job growth.
