Publicity

Cape Coral has a federal trademark on the expression “Growth Engine of Southwest Florida.” This is Cape Coral’s brand-- a vibrant, young, high-growth community with increasing numbers of young families; the largest city in Southwest Florida.

A substantial portion of the Economic Development Office budget is dedicated to publicity – both advertising and public relations.

The paid media schedule for 2007 included, for the first time, the Central edition of the Wall Street Journal. In addition, the City’s advertising appeared in the Crain’s business publications serving New York, Cleveland, Detroit and Chicago.

The EDO continued high-profile back-cover advertising in Site Selection magazine, one of the most well-read publications targeting corporate CEOs and site selection consultants.

On a regional level, the media schedule included Florida Trend, Gulf Shore Business, and Black’s Guide.

Please follow the links below to see examples of these strategies.
